Yeah, it's a very different culture. There's only one way there and that is to excel. I remember, I saw this story on TV, where a manager from Japan stabbed himself and claimed to have been mugged and stabbed just to get a day off work. He later confessed and admitted that he did it because he just couldn't take the stress anymore and needed a day off. Mental and physical health are equally important. In the American and Romanian culture if you don't feel well, you call in sick.
